Counselling sessions

Counselling is a talking therapy that aims to help you deal with and overcome issues that are causing emotional pain or making you feel uncomfortable.

How does it work?

If your treatment plan indicates Counselling is required, 1-1 sessions with a Counsellor may be recommended. This can provide a safe and regular space for you to talk and explore difficult feelings. The counsellor is there to support you and respect your views. They won’t usually give advice, but they will help you discover your own insights and understand your problems.

Counselling can help you:

  • Deal with depression or low mood
  • Deal with panic attacks and anxiety issues
  • Cope with loss
  • Grow in confidence and self-belief
  • Understand yourself and your feelings better
  • Manage relationship difficulties
  • Manage and overcome social problems
