Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a form of self-help therapy that is focused on helping you to understand the psychological nature of your problem, learn useful tools and techniques for managing your problem and build on the coping skills that you already have.

How does it work?

Psychoeducation is a way of understanding your problems and learning how to manage them differently. The aim of the courses are to help you begin to understand the psychological nature of your difficulties and how things may be able to change, looking at useful tools and techniques that the qualified therapist will guide you on how to use. This builds on the coping skills you already have, introduces to you a range of new skills and starts to process of change with you in the driving seat - enabling you to become your own therapist and enhance your emotional wellbeing.

Psychoeducation can help you:

  • Deal with depression or low mood
  • Deal with panic attacks and anxiety issues
  • Deal with anger problems
  • Deal with sleep issues
  • Cope with loss
  • Grow in confidence and self belief
  • Manage OCD
  • Manage eating problems
  • Overcome phobias
  • Understand yourself and your feelings better

Our online and group courses are examples of psychoeducational therapy. Run over a number of sessions, they offer you the opportunity to explore the nature of your specific problem and contain useful advice and techniques that you can use straightaway to improve your situation.
